Taxonomy
Atalantioxylon indicum was named by Lakhanpal et al. (1978). Its type specimen is BSIP 63/1505, a wood, and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Mohgaon, Nainpur, which is in a Paleogene fluvial horizon in the Deccan Intertrappean Formation of India.
