Taxonomy
Cottus otiakensis was named by Frost (1928). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Otekaike Limestone (Marwick collection) - Otiake, which is in an Oligocene open shallow subtidal limestone in the Otekaike Limestone Formation of New Zealand.
