Taxonomy
Proscelidodon gracillimus was named by Rovereto (1914). Its type specimen is MACN 8471 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Huayquerías de San Carlos, which is in a Huayquerian terrestrial horizon in the Cerro Azul Formation of Argentina.
