Taxonomy
Spisula (Hemimactra) sookensis was named by Clark and Arnold (1923). Its type specimen is UCMP IP 300066 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is China Beach, which is in a Chattian marine sandstone in the Sooke Formation of Canada.
