It was assigned to Microchiroptera by Kurten and Anderson (1980); to Chiroptera by Kurten (1968), Butler (1984), Nowak (1991), Czaplewski (2010), Vianey-Liaud et al. (2014); and to Vespertilionoidea by Carroll (1988), Shi and Rabosky (2015), Amador et al. (2018).
