Taxonomy
Lonsdaleiastraea nishinense was named by Yamagiwa (1962). Its type specimen is Osaka University of Liberal Arts & Education 60058-9 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Yokoyamaella (Maoriphyllum) nishinense by Minato and Kato (1965).
