Taxonomy
Anthracokeryx was named by Pilgrim and Cotter (1916). It is not extant. Its type is Anthracokeryx birmanicus.
It was synonymized subjectively with Anthracotherium by Tsubamoto et al. (2002).
It was assigned to Anthracotheriidae by Carroll (1988), McKenna and Bell (1997); to Artiodactylamorpha by Spaulding et al. (2009); to Microbunodontinae by Ducrocq et al. (2015); and to Anthracotheriinae by Boisserie et al. (2005), Scherler et al. (2019).
It was synonymized subjectively with Anthracotherium by Tsubamoto et al. (2002).
