Calymene anchiops was named by Green (1832).

It was recombined as Phacops anchiops by Burmeister (1846); it was recombined as Dalmanites anchiops by Hall (1876); it was recombined as Chasmops anchiops by Stauffer (1909); it was recombined as Anchiopsis anchiops by Delo (1935) and Morzadec et al. (2015).
