Uintaceras was named by Holbrook and Lucas (1997). It is not extant. Its type is Uintaceras radinskyi.

It was assigned to Rhinocerotoidea by Holbrook and Lucas (1997); and to Rhinocerotidae by Holbrook (1999), Prothero (2005).
