Etymology. Named after Japanese name of amber as this fossil was associated with numerous ambers.

Taxonomy
Adocus kohaku was named by Hirayama et al. (2021). Its type specimen is KAM 01, a partial shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kuji Amber Museum bonebed, which is in a Turonian fluvial siltstone/sandstone in the Tamagawa Formation of Japan.
