Taxonomy
Coelorinchus divulgatus was named by Schwarzhans (2019). Its type specimen is NMNZ S.47269, an otolith, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Little Pareora River, which is in a Waitakian marine siltstone in the Mount Harris Formation of New Zealand.
