Sapperichthys chiapanensis

Taxonomy
Sapperichthys chiapanensis was named by Amaral et al. (2013). Its type specimen is IHNFG2986, a skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is El Chango Quarry, which is in a Cenomanian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal dolomite in the Cintalapa Formation of Mexico. It is the type species of Sapperichthys.
