Taxonomy
Haqelpycnodus picteti was named by Taverne and Capasso (2018). Its type specimen is CLC S-317, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Haqel (Capasso collection), which is in a Cenomanian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal carbonate in Lebanon.
