Taxonomy
Hemielopopsis gracilis was named by Bassani (1879). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Lesina (Universitat Wien NHMW collection), which is in a Cenomanian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Starigrad Limestone Formation of Croatia.
