Taxonomy
Blastomeryx cursor was named by Cook (1934). Its type specimen is No. HC142, a partial skeleton (part maxillae and upper teeth from both sides, two lower molars and parts of limbs and feet), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is American Museum-Cook Quarry, which is in a Harrisonian terrestrial horizon in the Marsland Formation of Nebraska.
It was synonymized subjectively with Barbouromeryx trigonocorneus by Prothero (2008).
