Taxonomy
Calymene bellatula was named by Dalman (1827) [Calymene? bellatula; Lectotype selected and redescribed by Owen and Tripp (1988);]. Its type specimen is RM Ar.6049 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Cybele bellatula by Lovén (1846), Schmidt (1881), Pärnaste (2006).
