Taxonomy
Tripylocarpa aestuaria was named by Futey et al. (2012). Its type specimen is MPEF-Pb-3766, a seed repro, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Estancia Las Violetas - L2, which is in a Danian terrestrial sandstone in the Salamanca Formation of Argentina.
