Megalonyx sierrensis (sloth)

Taxonomy
Megalonyx sierrensis was named by Sinclair (1905) [mandible of same individual as UCMP is in the MCZ collection]. Its type specimen is UCMP 8130, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was synonymized subjectively with Megalonyx jeffersonii by Kurten and Anderson (1980) and Hutchison (1987).
