Taxonomy
Baculites clinolobatus was named by Elias (1933) [= 1908. Baculites anr.eps var. leopoliensis Novak, Bull. Acad. Sci., Cracovie, 1908, p. 326, text fig., p. 331, pi. 14, fig. 10.]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Beecher Island, Yuma Co [Beecher Island Mbr, Pierre Shale], which is in a Maastrichtian/Maastrichtian offshore limestone in the Pierre Shale Formation of Colorado.
