Baculites eliasi
Taxonomy
Baculites eliasi was named by Cobban (1958) [= Baculites pseudovatus Elias var. A. Elias, 1933, p. 306, pl. 28, fig. 2; pl. 33, figs. 5a,5b]. Its type specimen is USNM 108969 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is D448. 19 miles south of Newcastle, just west of U. S. Highway 85, which is in a Campanian marine shale in the Pierre Shale Formation of Wyoming.
