Idoceras ahwarense was named by Howarth (1998). It is not extant. Its type specimen is BMNH C.71097. Its type locality is GhanĂ¢m al-Kuffar, Wadi Ahwar, which is in a Kimmeridgian marine horizon in Yemen.
