Cretaceoxylon heteropunctatum
Taxonomy
Cretaceoxylon heteropunctatum was named by Pujana et al. (2018). Its type specimen is IAA-Pb 108, a wood, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is James Ross Island (Fossiliferous site 4), which is in a Campanian fluvial mudstone in the Santa Marta Formation of Antarctica. It is the type species of Cretaceoxylon.
