Balanus (Balanus) connelli was named by Cornwall (1927). It is extant. Its type specimen is UCMP 31410, a shell. Its type locality is beach west of Muir Creek, which is in a Chattian marine horizon in the Sooke Formation of Canada.

I. E. Cornwall 1927 | Large conical shell, with more irrecular, and smaller, ribs than the Recent Balanus nubilis. Parietal compartments with numerous round pores , without transverse septa . Radii, alae, and basis, without pores. Sculpture of suture on the edges of radii, alae, and parietes, less complicated than that of the Recent B. nubilis of the same size, but resembling that of an immature specimen of that species. |
