It was recombined as Orthogeomys grandis by Merriam (1895) and Hall (1981).

    It was recombined as Orthogeomys scalops by Merriam (1895); it was synonymized subjectively with Orthogeomys grandis by Nelson and Goldman (1930) and Hall (1981).
