Sanchez-Posada et al. 2024Romaleodelphis pollerspoecki differs from Chilcacetus in (a) the absence of a cavity between the nasals and presphenoid, (b) the presence of ankylosis for the symphysis of the mandibles, (c) the dentaries nearly completely fused, (d) the palatine only exposed laterally to the lateral lamina of the pterygoid, (e) a circle-shaped zygomatic process of the squamosal in lateral view, (f) an articular rim on the lateral surface of the periotic, and (g) a square-shaped pars cochlearis of the periotic in ventral view. It differs from Argyro- cetus bakersfieldensis in (a) the lack of a deep lateral groove along the rostrum and (b) the palatine only exposed laterally to the lateral lamina of the pterygoid. It differs from Argyrocetus joaquinensis in (a) a widening of the premaxillae at the rostrum base, (b) a dorsal opening of the mesorostral groove anterior to the rostrum base narrower than the premaxilla, (c) the palatine only exposed laterally to the lateral lamina of the pterygoid, and (d) a circle-shaped zygomatic process of the squamosal in lateral view. It differs from Macrodelphinus in (a) a widening of the premaxillae at the rostrum base and (b) the palatine only exposed laterally to the lateral lamina of the pterygoid. It differs from Argyrocetus patagonicus in (a) a widening premaxil- lae at the rostrum base, (b) a dorsal opening of the mesorostral groove anterior to the rostrum base narrower than the premax- illa, (c) the palatine only exposed laterally to the lateral lamina of the pterygoid, and (d) a circle-shaped zygomatic process of the squamosal in lateral view.
