Plesippus idahoensis
Taxonomy
Equus idahoensis was named by Merriam (1918). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Froman Ferry (UCMP 3036), which is in a Blancan terrestrial horizon in the Glenns Ferry Formation of Idaho.
It was synonymized subjectively with Equus simplicidens by Savage (1951), Kurten and Anderson (1980); it was considered a nomen dubium by Winans (1985); it was considered a nomen dubium by Kelly (1994); it was recombined as Plesippus idahoensis by Schultz (1936), Shotwell (1970), Repenning et al. (1995), Albright (1999), Barrón-Ortiz et al. (2019).
