Crepicephalus coria was named by Walcott (1916) [= Tricrepicephalus texanus (Shumard). PRATT, 1992, p. 62, pl. 21, figs. 1–7 (synonymy to date). Tricrepicephalus sp. STITT, 1998, p. 1042, fig. 7.27.].
It was recombined as Tricrepicephalus coria by Palmer (1954), Stitt and Perfetta (2000).
