Taxonomy
Modocia transversa was named by Palmer (1968). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS 4382-CO - Hillard Limestone, Hard Luck Creek area, which is in a Cambrian carbonate limestone in the Hillard Limestone Formation of Alaska.
It was recombined as Marjumia transversa by Melzak and Westrop (1994).
