Taxonomy
Serridentinus metachinjiensis was named by Osborn (1929). Its type specimen is AMNH 19414, a mandible (right hemimandible with m2 and m3), and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Gomphotherium metachinjiensis by Tobien (1972); it was recombined as Zygolophodon metachinjiensis by Duangkrayom et al. (2017).
