Taxonomy
Heteroterma elegans was named by Griffin and Hünicken (1994). Its type specimen is COR-PZ 2280, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sierra Dorotea H-4, level l, m, n, ñ, which is in a Danian marine sandstone in the Cerro Dorotea Formation of Argentina.
