Ancalecetus simonsi
Taxonomy
Ancalecetus simonsi was named by Gingerich and Uhen (1996). Its type specimen is CGM 42290, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wadi Hitan ZV-81, which is in a Priabonian shoreface sandstone in the Birket Qarun Formation of Egypt. It is the type species of Ancalecetus.
