Protoconch high and conical, with about four rounded whorls (total height about 1 mm) in species with planktotrophic development. Columella can be drawn out. Aperture with channel at anterior end. Outer lip of mature shell thickened and commonly expanded wing-like or into finger-like processes (Bandel, 2007, p. 102). |
