L. G. Barnes et al. 1995A genus of Chonecetinae differing from Chonecetus by having a cranium with a more vertically inclined occipital shield, more prominent median crest on occipital shield near its apex, basioccipital crests excavated on lateral side by peribullary sinus and more divergent posteriorly, larger peribullary sinus anterior to tympanic bulla and expanded medially into basioccipital, smaller cranial hiatus, more elongate mastoid process which is expanded dorsally on lateral surface of braincase.
