Taxonomy
Sarmatodelphis moldavicus was named by Kirpichnikov (1954). Its type specimen is PIN ? and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chisinau, which is in a Sarmatian marine horizon in Moldova. It is the type species of Sarmatodelphis.
