Xiphiacetus bossi
Taxonomy
Eurhinodelphis bossi was named by Kellogg (1925). Its type specimen is USNM 8842, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chesapeake Beach, south of, Zones 3-6, which is in a Burdigalian offshore siltstone in the Calvert Formation of Maryland.
It was recombined as Xiphiacetus bossi by Lambert (2005), Geisler et al. (2011), Bianucci and Varola (2014), Godfrey and Lambert (2023).
