| Å. M. Frisk and J. O. R. Ebbestad 2007 | Mimospira tenuistriata was described in detail by Wängberg-Eriksson (1979), in addition to M. similis from Öland and M. kallholniensis from Dalarna. The latter is ornamented by ribs oriented parallel to the apertural margin and at acute angles (directed abaperturally) to the sutures. In M. tenuistriata the ribs are transverse, separated by much narrower interspaces, and with a less acute angle to the apertural plane. M. similis has fewer and wider spaced ribs on each whorl compared to those in M. tenuistriata. The base and the apertural margin are very similar in M. kallholniensis, M. similis, and M. tenuistriata; one difference in M. tenuistriata is that the base is less concave. M. tenuistriata differs from the type species M. helmhackeri Perner, 1900, from Bohemia in its finer and more densely spaced ribs and lack of flange on the periphery. Isakar & Peel (1997) described M. puhmuense from Estonia. Compared to M. tenuistriata it has coarser and more widely spaced ribs. The Upper Ordovician M. barrandei Fr˘da, 1989, of Bohemia is similar to M. tenuistriata both in size and the roughly lamellate ribs while the pleural angle of this species is more similar to that of M. puhmuense. The spe- cies M. cochleata Lindström, 1884, from the Silurian Slite Beds of Gotland has a shape more similar to M. kallholniensis. |
