Murchisonia (Murchisonia) holynensis was named by Frýda and Manda (1997) [Murchisonia (Murchisonia) holynensis Frýda & Manda 1997]. It is not extant. Its type locality is Holyně Section in small quarry NE of Holyně and W of the Prastav Quarr, which is in an Eifelian carbonate limestone in the Daleje-Trebotov Formation of the Czech Republic.
It was recombined as Murchisonia holynensis by Heidelberger (2001) and Wagner (2023).
