Taxonomy
Bembexia gradilispira was named by Linsley and Kesling (1982). Its type locality is Drilling on the Herkimer farm, 2.41 km northwest of the center of Mattoon, which is in a Devonian marine limestone in the Grand Tower Limestone Formation of Illinois.
