Eunema lyelli was named by Perner (1903) [Eunema Lyelli Barrande in Perner 1903]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tobolka near Konêprusy, which is in a Gorstian carbonate limestone in the Kopanina Formation of Czechia.
It was recombined as Globonema lyelli by Wagner (2023).
