Taxonomy
Murchisonia altesinuata was named by Koken and Perner (1925) [Murchisonia altesinuata Koken in Koken & Perner 1925]. It is not extant. Its type locality is Trosviken ved Brevik, which is in a Pusgillian marine shale in the Venstøp Formation of Norway.
It was recombined as Coelocaulus altesinuata by Teichert (1932); it was recombined as Hormotoma altesinuata by Wagner (2023).
