Taxonomy
Murchisonia (Murchisonia) callahanensis was named by Rohr (1980). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM 18130. Gregg Ranch, which is in a Caradoc carbonate conglomerate/limestone in the Kangaroo Creek Formation of California.
It was recombined as Murchisonia callahanensis by Rohr (1980); it was recombined as Ectomaria callahanensis by Wagner (1999), Wagner (2023).
