Orestes quadrilineata was named by Girty (1934) [Orestes? quadrilineata Girty 1934]. It is not a trace fossil.
It was recombined as Glyptotomaria (Dictyotomaria) quadrilineata by Sturgeon (1964), Yochelson and Saunders (1967), Kues (1984), Hoare et al. (1997), Kues and Batten (2001); it was recombined as Dictyotomaria quadrilineata by Wagner (2023).
