It was corrected as Pleurotomaria defrancei by Holzapfel (1895), Beyer (1896), Lotz (1900); it was recombined as Murchisonia defrancei by Kirchner (1915), Heidelberger (2001), Basse and Heidelberger (2002), Wagner (2023).
