Taxonomy
Pleurotomaria tubulosa was named by Lindström (1884). It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Lophospira tubulosa by Ulrich and Scofield (1897); it was recombined as Longstaffia tubulosa by Peel (1977), Wagner (2023).
