Taxonomy
Nichollsemys baieri was named by Brinkman et al. (2006). Its type specimen is TMP 97.99.1, a skull (skull), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chin Coulee, which is in a Campanian marine horizon in the Bearpaw Shale Formation of Canada.
