Taxonomy
Planotectus was named by Yochelson (1956) [Sepkoski's age data: P Leon P Guad-l Sepkoski's reference number: 109,797]. It is not extant. Its type is Planotectus cymbellatus.
It was assigned to Euomphalidae by Knight et al. (1960), Morris and Cleevely (1981), Linsley and Kier (1984); to Euomphalina by Sepkoski (2002); and to Euomphalinae by Wagner (2023).
