Taxonomy
Pleuronotus was named by Hall (1879) [Sepkoski's age data: S D Eife Sepkoski's reference number: 362,797]. It is not extant. Its type is Euomphalus decewi.

It was assigned to Euomphalidae by Knight et al. (1960), Morris and Cleevely (1981), Linsley and Kier (1984); and to Euomphalina by Sepkoski (2002).
