Cyclocardia (Cyclocardia) montereyana

Taxonomy
Venericardia montereyana was named by Arnold (1908) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene; California.]. Its type specimen is USNM 165464, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Newell Creek, Felton, which is in a Langhian/Serravallian coastal mudstone/siltstone in the Monterey Formation of California.

It was recombined as Cyclocardia montereyana by Clark (1981); it was recombined as Cyclocardia (Cyclocardia) montereyana by Moore (1992).
