Neocricetodon lavocati
Taxonomy
Cricetulus lavocati was named by Hugueney and Mein (1965) [In the original description the type specimen was considered an M2, but it was reinterpreted by Freudenthal et al., 1998]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is FSL 65212, a tooth (M3 sup. sin.). Its type locality is Lissieu (Miocene micromammals), which is in a MN 13 terrestrial horizon in France.
It was recombined as Kowalskia lavocati by de Bruijn (1976); it was recombined as Neocricetodon lavocati by Freudenthal et al. (1998).
