It was recombined as Orbicoelia speciosa by Chen (2006), Zhang et al. (2014), Hautmann et al. (2015), Foster et al. (2019), Wu et al. (2019); it was recombined as Speciothyris speciosa by Liao and Meng (1986), He et al. (2019).
